Jan 19: Academy members invited to join regional committees

Jan 29: ExCom meeting to finalize committee composition

Feb 28: Deadline for nominations

March 30: Regional committee meetings and reports

April 15: Global committee review and ExCom approval

April 30: Final vote results reviewed by ExCom

June: New Fellows announced at Indoor Air 2026

Nomination Process for Academy Fellows

ISIAQ Academy Fellows are selected through a rigorous, multi-stage process. Self-nominations are not permitted - candidates must be nominated by current Academy Fellows.

Eligibility to Submit Nominations

  • Only current ISIAQ Academy Fellows may submit nominations

Required Documents for Each Nominee

To ensure consistency and fairness, nominators must submit the following materials:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Three major publications

All documents must be submitted via the online nomination form. This centralized system ensures completeness and preserves records for future reference.

Selection Procedure Overview

The selection process is designed to promote regional representation, diversity, and informed evaluation.

Regional Committees
  • Three members per region (America, Europe/Africa, Asia/Australia)
  • Members must be ISIAQ Fellows from different countries
  • One chair per region appointed by the Academy ExCom

Each committee reviews nominations and submits a short report recommending 1-3 candidates.

Global Committee
  • Composed of regional chairs + one additional member of each region
  • Chairs by one of the regional chairs appointed by the Academy ExCom
  • The Academy President holds a tie-breaking vote if needed
Final Approval & Election
  • Academy ExCom reviews global recommendations
  • Candidates must receive >50% support from the Global Committee to be selected

Yaglou Award

The award is named in memory of Professor CP Yaglou, Harvard School of Public Health, for his pioneering work on indoor air quality, ventilation requirements, and thermal comfort during the 1920s and 1930s. The purpose of this award is to celebrate outstanding achievement by a promising young researcher within the indoor air sciences and to encourage him or her to continue to pursue a career in this field.

The awardee must be under 37 years of age at the time the award is made. Nominations for the 2026 award should be submitted by March 31.
