Post-doctoral Fellowship Opportunity at the University of Michigan

A post-doctoral fellowship position in environmental and occupational exposure assessment is available in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, at the University of Michigan.  The position is for two years, and will start in August 1, 2015, although the start date is flexible.  
 
The post-doctoral fellow would participate in a study of the indoor environment addressing exposures of particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, semivolatile compounds, and other environmental exposures, which will be linked to health and academic performance of students.  In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in other research projects related to environmental exposure assessment, including studies examining ambient air quality and environmental epidemiology.  The fellow would be expected to participate in activities involving sampling and analysis of environmental samples, including conducting GC/MS and other laboratory analyses, as well as study design, data analysis, manuscript writing, and assistance with research grant preparation.
 
Candidate should have an advanced degree (doctorate required) in environmental health sciences, exposure sciences, environmental health, environmental sciences, environmental chemistry, occupational hygiene, or a related area.  Skills in instrumental methods, GC/MS, laboratory experience, and data analysis are expected.  Experience in sampling and analysis of trace levels of volatile organic compounds in air is helpful  The candidate should have demonstrated ability to conduct, analyze and interpret environmental and indoor environment exposure data.
