The Healthy Buildings International Conference & Exhibition is a signature event of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ).
Healthy Buildings attracts tens of thousands of researchers and other professionals from the fields of indoor air quality, built environments, HVAC, health sciences, public health policy, urban planning, mechanical engineering, architecture, building design and management, and more.
Attracting attendees from all over the globe, Healthy Buildings is a unique forum for built environment researchers and professionals to engage with innovative projects, products, and services and to meet and collaborate with colleagues working on the pressing global challenge of making buildings healthy, energy efficient, and sustainable.
Healthy Buildings sustains ISIAQ’s mission to support the creation of healthy, comfortable, and productive indoor environments. ISIAQ believes this is achievable by advancing the science and technology of indoor air quality and climate as it relates to indoor environment design, construction, operation, maintenance, air quality measurement, and health sciences.
ISIAQ’s major role is to facilitate international and interdisciplinary communication and information exchange, as well as develop, adapt, and maintain codes, standards, and guidelines for the improvements of indoor air quality and climate.
Healthy Buildings conference objectives include:
- Setting the state-of-the-art in the field of indoor air quality for all buildings in all climatic conditions and its relation to health.
- Creating a multidisciplinary forum on the development and advances of knowledge made in the field of indoor air quality and climate.
- Contributing to the development of methods for the assessment of environmental health hazards and their effects on health and to improve risk assessment methodologies.
- Facilitating interactions among scientists, policy makers, and medical, legal and building professionals on the application of state-of-the-art research to practical problems encountered in the design, construction, operation, and retrofitting of buildings.
- Increasing the awareness of the importance of good indoor air together with energy-efficient buildings for healthy built environments.
- Contributing to strategies and criteria that policy makers use to assess how materials, technologies, architecture, and building design and maintenance affect built environments.
- Supporting health and environmental policy makers and providing public outreach on the relationship between built environments and health.
